WORKSHOP 

A workshop was organized between 31 May – 5 June 2015 on job coaching  in Yeditepe University. Among the total 53 participants, 34 were the project partners (Table 3).The aim of the workshop was to improve the theoretical and practical knowledge of the participants including assessment  of the person with ID as skill and expectations, assessment of home and job environments, assessment of employers, company,  social and physical environments,  as well as expectations of the family.

The ‘Job Coaching Training’ was given by  Mr. Christopher Lynch who is the Chief Executive Officer of KARE: Promoting Inclusion for People with Intellectual Disabilities  for two days. Each partner presented the situation 

of Job Coaching Training and Practice in their countries as well as legislation and care for people with intellectual disabilities.

The practical studies of the workshop were done in the corporations (Bimeks Maltepe, Bimeks Buyaka Shopping center, BigChef Restaurants Suadiye Branch) that  the project partner The Association of Down’s Syndrome  has

already  youngsters with Down’s Syndrom  working as supported employees. During these visits  under the concept of job coaching  we have talked with the employees with Down’s Syndrom, their supervisors, chefs and employers,

and exchange information (Table 4).
